Quotes attributable to Acting Transport and Infrastructure Minister Hamilton-Smith
Our Adelaide Oval Footy Express services for AFL games are always hugely popular with about 20,000 fans taking advantage of the service every round and we expect it to be just as popular for the SANFL Grand Final.
Free public transport is a great way to reduce the cost of a day out at the football, particularly for families, and it means Adelaide Metro can get thousands of fans into and out of the city faster and with more efficiency than ticketed services.
The SANFL IGA Grand Final is the climax of the local footy season and we know many people attending like to enjoy a drink or two to celebrate. Providing free public transport reduces the temptation to drink and drive while also taking the hassle out of getting to and from the game.
