Small businesses in the North and Eyre Peninsula regions of SA will get a unique opportunity next month to connect with a number of local, State and Federal Government agencies that provide services and advice to small businesses.
The Office of the Small Business Commissioner will be holding the popular BizLink Seminars in Port Lincoln, Whyalla and Port Pirie.
The Small Business Commissioner, John Chapman, has been leading the BizLink Seminars for the past 18 months and has seen increasing levels of attendance.
Businesses can expect to hear from agencies including the Australian Taxation Office in relation to their services and online tools; ReturnToWorkSA will speak in relation to workers compensation arrangements and changes to employer’s premiums; and the Office of the Industry Advocate will detail tendering for government contracts.
Other agencies taking part include AusIndustry Business Services, SafeWork SA, Environment Protection Authority and the Department of State Development. Local councils and Regional Development Australia are also involved.

Quotes attributable to Minister for Small Business Martin Hamilton-Smith
Small businesses operators are very busy people and don’t always have time to have lengthy phone calls or shop around for the help they need.
These BizLink Seminars are a way to bring many of those services together in one place and take some of the frustration out of getting information and advice.
Many business owners who have attended these events in the past are surprised at the number of services that are available from government and have provided positive feedback about the range of relevant content and information on offer.
Quotes attributable to Small Business Commissioner John Chapman
Connecting with and supporting small business in Regional South Australia is something that I, as Small Business Commissioner am committed to. In recent weeks I have visited Whyalla regularly, speaking to businesses which have been affected by the administration of Arrium.
